Blog hiatus: a quick update

Blog hiatus and update

Laura’s Pen explains her absence recently and shares a video the Mighty made of her ME Adventures comic…

So, those of you who follow my blog may have noticed a distinct lack of posts lately. I’ve had a lot going on and haven’t had the energy to be blogging and it’s not likely to get much better in the near future, so I’m currently on a bit of a blog hiatus.

I will check in with the odd blog when I’m up to it. I’ve got several ideas bubbling away in my mind-box. There’s an app I’ve been using for several months for my prescriptions called Echo that I want to review. You do everything through the app from ordering to getting them (they post them out to you). Plus there are a few other ideas I’ve been milling around. But as it is, they probably won’t be written for a fair while.

But wait a minute! What’s this? The Mighty made my ME adventures comic into a video. I think it looks pretty great 🙂

You can view the original comic here. If you want to share the video version on Facebook The Mighty have uploaded it here.

So what’s been happening with me that’s stopped me blogging? Well, I was overdoing it a bit with the blogging anyway but then my Lyme treatment set me back a bit. I’m now seeing a different clinic that I’m much happier with but I’ve been bogged down with filling in forms, getting tests done (so many they had to change arms as I stopped bleeding), seeing doctors etc. And now I’ve also been booked in for an NHS investigative laparoscopy next week.

I may check in with little updates on how I’m doing rather than my normal more article-style posts for a while, I will wait and see.

I hope you all are as well as can be.

Love from,

Laura’s Pen

  1. It’s good to hear you are getting on well with your new clinic. I totally appreciate how knackering and tough treatment is. Btw that’s awesome your comic was turned into a video! x

    1. Thanks. It’s also all the research and admin! I hope you’re getting on ok too.

I was really pleased with the video. I didn’t have to do anything, just give my permission so it was really nice to have kind of produced some content without doing anything! X

  2. When I charge my phone I’ve got to watch that video! I’ve seen the original comic you made. So cool the mighty picked it up!

    1. Thanks 🙂 They also published the comic itself months ago but contacted me earlier in the week wanting to make into a video. I’d seen a little surge in views on it just before so I’m guessing they had the same and it spurred them to make the vid 🙂

  3. Thinking of you. Hope you have the best of luck with your new clinic and treatments. I can hardly function while taking any of my Lyme protocols. Love your comic and the video. Congratulations. Take care of you. Valerie
